Dear Parent or Guardian:

          We here at Memorial Baptist Sonshine Preschool shall try to give your child loving care and guidance that children need in their formative years.

          The Child Development   Center has been planned for three, four, and five-year-old   children, with the goal of helping them in their mental, emotional, social, and spiritual development.  Children should be three years old by August 1st. We welcome your child to the Child Development Center and hope the learning experiences here will be happy, wholesome ones.

 

 

The Preschool Program

 

Your child will participate in a variety of activities such as:

 

*Working with paints, clay, crayons, blocks, and other manipulative materials

 

*Making short excursions to points of interest in the community

 

*Enjoying stories, poetry, dramatization, films, and books

 

*Learning to share, take turns, plan, work, and play with others

 

*Learning to respond rhythmically to music, singing new songs, and listening to different kinds of music

 

*Acquiring good health and cleanliness habits

Policies

 

Health

                We can accept only well children.  We are   depending on you to help us maintain this policy.  All children will be examined on arrival at the center each morning.  If symptoms of illness are observed, the child will be sent home.

 

Leaving and Calling for a Child

                A reliable person must leave and call for your child.  The person who brings the child must stay until he or she has been checked into the center.  Your child will be sent home only with persons known by the staff to be authorized to call for the child, unless you give us direct permission for someone else to do this.  A late pickup charge will be administered when a child is called for later than the prescribed schedule.  Ten      minutes is considered late.

 

Records

                The center will keep records of attendance, health, and identification of each child.  We need a copy of the child’s birth certificate, health report from your doctor, and full details and phone number where we can reach you at work or at home.

 

Clothes

                Washable play clothes are the most suitable.  We do get messy sometimes.

 

Child Evaluation Conferences

                Parents are requested to participate in at least one conference with the child’s teacher during the year at times which will be announced.

 

Dismissal of a Child

                The center reserves the privilege of dismissing any child if after entering, he or she seems unable to participate in group experiences or fees have not been paid.
